Exhibition of Artifacts from the Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang Dynasties Opens at Shaanxi History Museum







Exhibition "Everlasting Like the Heavens -- the Cultures and Arts of the Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang", co-hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration and Tsinghua University, was recently opened in the seventh exhibition hall of Shaanxi History Museum.


In celebration of the seventieth anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, as a birthday gift towards the nation, Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration and Tsinghua University, has launched the special exhibition “Everlasting Like the Heavens--the Cultures and Arts of the Zhou, the Qin, the Han and Tang Dynasties”. The theme of the exhibition is “everlasting like the heavens”, drawing from a classical Han Dynasty auspicious phrase, invoking prosperity of the People’s Republic of China, passing down of Chinese outstanding traditional culture through the generations, and to pass the torch of the spirit of the flourishing ages of the Han and the Tang Dynasties and spirit of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, everlasting like the heavens. The exhibition has selected 311 pieces (sets) representative cultural relics of the Zhou, the Qin, the Han and the Tang Dynasties which collected from 35 museology units in Shaanxi. It presents a splendid sight. The exhibition was opened to the public in September 2019, it won the good public response for the distinct theme, rich in content and splendid exhibits. It is a positive exploration that cooperation between museums and colleges and universities in the new era, to innovates exhibit mode, for the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage together.


The exhibition runs from Jan. 10 to Mar. 28.
